This work is a choreopoem specially composed for the World Buddhist Forum Conference in 2006. With the thread of the birth of Buddhism and the introduction into China, using song and dance, martial arts, instrumental music and other forms, it presents the excellent Chinese traditional cultures of Dunhuang arts, Shalu Monastery arts of Tibet, Shaolin Dhyana, and also elaborates the process of interinfiltration and mutual promotion between the culture of Buddhism and that of Confucianism and Taoism. It is a wonderful work in the Chinese culture treasury.
Different from the traditional space concept, the work uses the creative means of land art and multimedia form to extremely stretch the stage space, bringing more aesthetic pleasure to audiences and further arousing the artistic imaginary space. The choreopoem was well-reputed by the domestic and overseas experts and religious community when it made the debut on the first World Buddhist Forum Conference. And it was revised and re-created in 2007 to further promote the excellent Chinese traditional culture by tours around the world. |
